GEELY AUTO WARRANTY COMMITMENT
This Warranty Policy outlines the terms and conditions of the warranty coverage provided for your GEELY vehicle under the GEELY AUTO Warranty. The GEELY AUTO Warranty is valid and applicable within the United Kingdom.

 

GEELY AUTO WARRANTY COMMITMENT

 

Should any component of your new vehicle require repair or replacement due to a manufacturing defect then, if the component is still within the manufacturer’s warranty period, such repair or replacement will be carried out free of charge by an Authorised GEELY AUTO Service Dealer. For details of the warranty periods applicable to the vehicle see section “Warranty Period”.

 

The GEELY AUTO Warranty applies irrespective of any change in vehicle ownership during the applicable warranty period. Any component repaired or replaced under the GEELY AUTO Warranty will continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period applicable to that component. All warranty repair work undertaken by Authorised GEELY AUTO Service Dealers repairs will be undertaken using genuine new or remanufactured GEELY AUTO parts.

 

CONSUMER LAWS

 

The GEELY AUTO Warranty operates in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights provided under national consumer laws. In certain circumstances, your rights under national consumer laws may exceed those provided by the GEELY AUTO warranty. In such cases, GEELY AUTO will always honour the rights afforded to you under the national consumer laws.

 

 

WARRANTY PERIOD

 

 

The GEELY AUTO Warranty is split into different warranty periods. The Base Warranty Period is set out under the “Base Warranty” section. The warranty period for some components/items is shorter than the Base Warranty and these are set out in the “Warranty Limitations” section. The warranty period for aftermarket parts and accessories (meaning those fitted to the vehicle after delivery) is set out in the “Aftermarket Parts and Accessories” section. The warranty period for a new GEELY AUTO vehicle begins on the date of first registration of the vehicle.

 

Base Warranty

 

The GEELY AUTO Base Warranty period for new vehicles is 6 Years / 100,000 Miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of first registration. This warranty period is subject to the limitations and exclusions described in the “Warranty Limitations” and “Warranty Exclusions” sections below.

 

Promotional Warranty Offer

 

• As part of the Geely EX5 launch in the UK, we are pleased to offer a special promotion. Customers who purchase the Geely EX5 will receive an additional 2 years or 25,000 miles of Base Warranty cover at no extra cost for all components/items except for paint (see below) and the Limited Warranty Components described below (“Excepted Items”). This extends the Base Warranty, save for the Excepted Items, to a total of 8 years or 125,000 miles (whichever comes first).

High voltage battery: The Lithium-Ion Phosphate battery (“High Voltage Battery”) is warranted against excessive capacity decrease for 8 years or 125,000 Miles (whichever occurs first). It is normal for battery capacity to decrease over time, however, if the High Voltage Battery capacity drops to below 70% of the original capacity, this will be regarded as an excessive capacity decrease. Whether or not the High Voltage Battery capacity has suffered an excessive capacity decrease is determined by an Authorised GEELY AUTO Service Dealer.If an excessive decrease occurs, your GEELY AUTO Authorised Service Dealer may repair or replace individual battery cells (if possible) or replace the battery pack. Note that this will not increase the High Voltage Battery capacity to 100% but our commitment is that it will return the capacity to 70% or more. Please also note that the exclusions set out in the “Warranty Exclusions section” apply to the High Voltage Battery warranty 

 

Anti-perforation: The warranty period is 12 Years with unlimited mileage.  Anti-perforation refers to rust through corrosion that affects the painted metal body panels from the inside or underside, resulting from faulty or poor workmanship or materials used in the vehicles manufacturer process. It does not cover surface corrosion or damage caused by insufficient or improper maintenance, storage or care or other factors beyond GEELY AUTO control.  

 

Important note: GEELY AUTO  does not require you to perform all service or repairs at a GEELY AUTO Authorised Service Dealer. If your GEELY AUTO vehicle is serviced or repaired by independent garages you must ensure that:

 

• All servicing and maintenance is carried out in accordance with the GEELY AUTO UK Service Program as detailed in the Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet.

 

• The service is completed within the specified intervals (i.e., every 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and within 60 days or 2,000 miles of the due date).

 

• Genuine or equivalent quality parts and fluids are used that meet GEELY AUTO specifications.

 

• Full documentation and proof of servicing are retained and made available upon request.

 

Important note: While GEELY AUTO does not require servicing to be performed exclusively by Authorised GEELY AUTO Service Dealers, warranty repairs carried out by non-authorised repairers will not be reimbursed unless prior written approval has been obtained from GEELY AUTO.

 

Important note:  Warranty coverage will be void or excluded if the vehicle has not been serviced or maintained in line with the recommended service schedule, and that failure results in damage or defects.

 

 

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS

 

 

Limited Warranty Components

 

The warranty period for the following parts/items is shorter than the Base Warranty Period. The applicable warranty period is set out in the table. 

 

 

Paint 3 years / 37,500 Miles (whichever occurs first). 
Paint defects are defined as issues arising from the original paint application or its long-term durability. This warranty applies to such defects where they affect visible exterior surfaces of the vehicle, such as cracking, blistering, discolouration, orange peel effect or irregularities in surface finish, provided these are attributable to a manufacturing, material, or workmanship fault. This does not cover problems such as scaling, blistering, scabbing, fading, or damage caused by inadequate maintenance, improper storage, environmental factors (such as pollution), impact from foreign objects, or any other circumstances beyond GEELY AUTO ‘s control. 
Wear & Tear Components 3 Years / 37,500 Miles (whichever occurs first):
Shock Absorber, Damper, Ball Joints, Track Rod End, Suspension Bearing, Wheel Hub Bearing, Brake Disc, All Rubber Parts,:Brake hose; Buffer block, FH/RH stabilizer rod; Sealing strip, FH/RH windshield glass; Sealing strip, Roof; Sealing strip, door; Sealing Strip, Triangle glass; Sealing strip, Trunk door; Dust cover; and all other rubber covers. Oil seals: oil seal, gearshift cover; oil gasket, odometer All Oil Seals, TPMS sensor, & Glass 
1 Year / 12,500 Miles (whichever occurs first):
12V Battery
1 Year / 10,000 Miles (whichever occurs first):
Brake pad, A/C filter, Remote battery, Lamp bulb, Wiper blade, Fuse and Relay (excluding integrated control unit)
Non-warrantable Regular consumption lubricant, Grease, Brake oil, Coolant, Washer fluid, A/C Refrigerant, & Localised parts

 

 

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

In addition to the current Wear & Tear plus Non warrantable components, the promotional warranty coverage specifically excludes the following components:

 

Sensors: Vehicle speed sensor, Reverse radar probe, Rain sensor, External antenna, Internal antenna, Millimeter wave radar, Sunlight sensor, and Wheel speed sensor.

 

Actuator and Controller: Vacuum actuator, Vacuum control valve, Radar host, Combined instrument assembly, Multi-Function Display, Central Controller, Remote control and Electronic Steering Lock.

Cable, Gas Spring/Strut, Door Locks, Window Regulator, Camera, Wiper Motor, All Lamps, Multimedia Unit (GPS host; multimedia host).

 

 

Anti-perforation / Corrosion

 

This does not cover ‘surface corrosion’ which has resulted from improper or inadequate care.

 

Consumption fluids

 

The GEELY AUTO Warranty does not cover regular consumption lubricant, regular consumption lubricating grease, regular consumption brake oil, regular consumption coolant, regular consumption washer fluid, regular consumption A/C refrigerant except where these items are supplied by an Authorised GEELY AUTO Authorised Service Dealer as part of a warranty repair or vehicle service, in which case the warranty period is 6 months.

 

Tyres

 

Tyres are subject to wear over time. The rate of wear is dependent on many factors including driving and braking style, road surface type and quality, and amount of driving. Depending on driving surface and conditions, tyres may become damaged or punctured, none of which is covered under this warranty, but may be covered under the tyre manufacturer’s warranty and pending their investigation. If defects are found in tyres, you can contact your GEELY AUTO Authorised Service Retailer, and they will help you to make a claim.

 

The GEELY AUTO Warranty does not cover any repair or replacement that is required as a direct result of:

 

• Ordinary wear and tear.

 

• Failure to properly operate, maintain, or care for the vehicle in accordance with the instructions outlined in the Owner’s Manual and the Service Booklet, including failure to complete the required scheduled servicing and maintenance.

 

• Faults arising from the use of the vehicle for purposes other than those for which it was designed. For clarity, in the case of the GEELY AUTO EX5, this includes any faults resulting from participation in formal or informal competitive activities such as racing, as the vehicle is not engineered for such purposes.

 

• Vehicle collisions, fire, theft, vandalism, or malicious acts by third parties, as well as any damage incurred through illegal use of the vehicle.

 

• Driver misuse, abuse, or negligence, including but not limited to modifying the vehicle, towing, or carrying loads which exceed the manufacturer’s specified limits.

 

• The use of lubricants, oils, or coolants that do not meet the manufacturer’s specified standards, or from the use of incorrect quantities.

 

• Continued operation of the vehicle after the activation of warning lights or following the loss of essential fluids, including but not limited to lubricants, oils, water, coolants, or refrigerants.

 

• Any repairs, alterations, or modifications carried out improperly.

 

• Damage to, or issues with, the vehicle’s hardware or software resulting from modifications to the vehicle’s systems, including the installation of components that do not meet the manufacturer’s specifications or are not matching quality, are not intended for use with the vehicle, or result in major or material modifications, as reasonably determined by GEELY AUTO.

 

• Damage, including but not limited to deterioration, staining, or corrosion, resulting from exposure to environmental conditions such as flooding, hail, salt, acid rain, extreme temperatures, lightning, or other acts of nature.

 

 

• Damage caused by birds, other animals or insects, as well as from tree sap, bark, or leaves.

 

 

• Cracks, chips, or other breakages to the windscreen resulting from incidents, rocks, or natural environmental effects.

 

• Damage to the engine resulting from the use of contaminated fuel or non-approved fuels, including fuel that falls below the recommended or specified ratings.

 

NOTE: No warranty repairs shall be carried out if it is found that the odometer or the service records have been forged or tampered with.

 

Servicing - Vehicle servicing falls under reasonable maintenance requirements of a vehicle. Fluids, and other consumables also reasonably require replacement periodically. As such, servicing and replenishment of fluids and other consumables are not covered by the GEELY AUTO Warranty and all costs associated fall on the owner.

 

 

AFTERMARKET PARTS AND ACCESSORIES WARRANTY

 

 

Genuine Parts and Genuine Accessories

 

 

GEELY AUTO offers the warranties described below on genuine parts and accessories purchased through GEELY AUTO or Authorised GEELY AUTO Service Dealer.

 

Genuine Accessories

 

 

Genuine Accessories fitted after the date of delivery of the vehicle will be covered for a period of 12 months / 12,500 Miles whichever occurs first. Genuine GEELY AUTO Accessories purchased directly from a GEELY AUTO authorised dealer will be covered for a period of 12 months / 12,500 Miles from the date of purchase.

 

Genuine Parts 

 

 

Genuine GEELY AUTO Parts purchased through a GEELY AUTO Authorised service Dealer will be covered for a period of 12 months / 12,500 Miles from the date of purchase.

 

All warranty coverage on parts is subject to a warranty claim assessment and approval process, with GEELY AUTO acting reasonably during these processes.

 

OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITIES – SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

 

It is a condition of the GEELY AUTO Warranty that the vehicle must be serviced in accordance with the GEELY AUTO UK Service Program as detailed in the Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet. Every service must be completed in accordance with the manufacturer's specified service schedule and within 60 days or 2,000 Miles (whichever occurs first) of the specified service interval of 2 year or 20,000 Miles (whichever occurs first). 

 

Failure to service the vehicle in accordance with this schedule may invalidate the GEELY AUTO UK Warranty is the failure caused or contributed to the fault in question. Proof of servicing must be retained and may be requested when making a warranty claim.

 

It is a requirement to properly maintain your vehicle in accordance with the vehicle maintenance requirements described in the Owner’s Manual. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by the failure of customers to operate, maintain and care for their vehicle in accordance with the relevant Owner’s Manual, or where a customer misuses, intentionally damages, or neglects their vehicle, as reasonably determined by GEELY AUTO UK.

 

WARRANTY TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP 
 
If the vehicle is sold, the remainder of the warranty period is transferred to the new owner of the vehicle. 

 

Under no circumstances can this warranty be transferred to another vehicle. This warranty is cancelled if the vehicle is written off or disposed of by an insurer. 

 

It is the responsibility of the registered owner of the vehicle to source and provide GEELY AUTO with information, such as details on how the previous owner/s used the vehicle, details on how the vehicle is currently used, the vehicle’s history of scheduled services. This information may be required by GEELY AUTO to verify warranty status when requesting repairs deemed warranty.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
 
The GEELY AUTO Warranty does not extend to indirect or incidental costs and losses. These may include, but are not limited to, loss of time, inconvenience, transport expenses, accommodation charges, telephone costs, or loss of income. Any statutory rights or remedies available to you under applicable law in relation to compensation claims must be pursued separately in writing to GEELY AUTO.
 
GEELY AUTO reserves the right to amend the content, description or terms of the warranty policy if required by legislation or business needs. Under the terms of this warranty, GEELY AUTO shall not be held liable for any consequential, direct or incidental loss or damage arising from a warranty claim.
